Good Morning Vietnam

Good Morning Vietnam

A few weeks ago Amy said “Good Morning Vietnam.” I said “Fuck me.”

I’ve been listening to the audiocassette of the Tribute to Our Gang (Amy and I put it on repeat every morning as a family breakfast) since we sold our first home about eight months ago. The recording of it was something special that I’m going to listen to in the car today.

The lyrics to this song are:

Now, a real good morning, baby

I gave them all away

I know I was a bad boy in the old days But I took care of my girlie

I fought in the war, but I was just a little scared

I was a mixed martial arts guy, but I was too scared

Now I’m a Vietcong soldier, and a ladies man For all the girls that wanted to be like me You better believe I was an ace at them
